How Mark Tuan Reacts To You Being Disrespected At An Award’s Ceremony
fandom: GOT7
pairing: mark tuan x black!reader
warning(s): cursing, racist remark
creator: maya
A/N: this is honestly pure fucking crack. like i just started typing and this is where we ended up!!! requests are open, so be sure to view our guidelines and send in requests!!!
*gif not mine, but look at this sexy mf*
Tumblr media
mark will go to war for you, point. blank. PERIODT!!!
y’all know how he “LA gangsta?” well that shit holds WEIGHT okay?!
It’s always the quite ones you look out for 👀
so when you got disrespected by your co-presenter at the MAMA’s as a guest, mannnnnnnnnn; baby boy had to get held back
you understood that South Korea had a tendency to house racist folk and you expected a little slick shit while you were there, however, you did not expect this.
they said they shit in Korean, thinking you were some dumb bitch (not over here sir!) and it was evident on many people’s faces that it was not funny in the slightest
sooooo this what they said; “이 원숭이가 날 잡았군 마크, 솔직히, 그 여자 거트 엉덩이 어때?”
TRANSLATION: “they got me up here with this monkey bitch. Mark, be honest, how do you even deal with her ghetto ass?”
ALT TRANSLATION: hi, I wanna get my ass beat tonight, thanks >.<
Bro, Mark was like deadass pissed. You swore that if this man carried a gun, ole’ girl would’ve been LAID. OUT!!!!
Anyways, once you gathered your wits (barely) you turned to the girl and calmly, but menacingly, put the trick in her place.
“I know damn well you know what the fuck i’m about to say to you, so imma only say this once; i’m not stupid. I heard everything you said and you better be lucky these cameras are rolling because if not, your ass would be rolling off of this stage. Don’t you EVER fix your mouth to say some disrespectful and racist shit about me or my man, again. Do you understand? Cause i’d hate to have to dog walk your ass and show you how ‘ghetto’ I can really get. You should be ashamed of yourself, disrespecting your country like that. Fucking pathetic. Give me the damm envelop and get the fuck on.”
The girl was embarrassed (as she should) and she gave you the envelope and saw herself off that stage.
It was silent as everyone was stunned at how you just handed her ass like that and they didn’t know how to react.
Mark was a little turned on, ngl, but he was also still pissed off and wanted to fight somebody.
Seeing as you didn’t know how to say a lot in Korean, you needed someone to translate for you and what better person than your man?
So you called Mark up on stage for help.
“Baby, I need you up here to translate for me.”
Mark didn’t need to be told twice and Jinyoung released his hyung without a second thought, thinking that the man was subdued enough.
WRONG
As soon as Mark got up there, he kissed your forehead and got in the mic and in angry Korean, he said what was on his chest.
“다음 내 여자 대한 무례하게 굴어서 미칠거야. 그녀랑 관련된 것에 대해 말하지 마. 나는 그녀에게 대해 말하지 마. 나는 폭력적인 남자고 그래, 그 누구 때문에 그런 남자고 그래.”
TRANSLATION: “Next person to disrespect my girl will face repercussions. Don’t say shit about her or near her. I am not a violent man, but for her i’d fight anybody. Thank you.”
ALT TRANSLATION: “i fight bitches and niggas so what’s good?” (mark would never say the N word tho)
You caught on to what he was saying and couldn’t help but smile at how protective Mark was of you.
“Now that that’s handled, LETS GET IN TO IT!!!”
Lets just say that after that, there were two LA gangstas, even if you weren’t from LA.
Everybody had the upmost respect for you and before you knew it, Mark was everyone’s favorite man.

todoroki shouto x reader; bakugou katsuki x reader
warnings: angst, fluff, cursing
a/n: one crushes your heart. the other one fills it. pick your poison. bitch... this made me sad and happy....
Part Two ; Alt Ending
Tumblr media
todoroki shouto
You had been happy in your relationship with Shouto. Happiness and longevity seemed to be something coined for the two of you. But you knew that you were the first real relationship he had.
Recently, Shouto was becoming better acquainted with his family. Often spending his free days with his family instead of spending it with you. Which wasn’t an issue in your opinion, but it was three months since this started… and you only ever saw Shouto at night when he would come to bed past midnight. You were becoming upset by this, and whenever you voiced your emotions he was quick to ignore you.
The reality of your relationship was that you were not happy at this moment. You were also sure you did not wish to break up with him… but you wanted effort. Today was your birthday, and you hadn’t received a single acknowledgment from him about it. Today was your day off and he didn’t so much as kiss you goodbye today when he left for work as you woke up.
Today, you sat at the kitchen table at nine at night, waiting for him to come home. Your fingers play with a gift you bought for the two of you as a way to get him to go somewhere with you.
Some part of you wishes that he isn’t here because he has some elaborate plan. That these past few months, he’s been making you insecure for this very night. That Shouto’s waiting for you to cave first so he can expose his birthday celebration plans. But you know better to assume that, Shouto has never been spontaneous like that.
So today, instead of celebrating with friends, you waited for Shouto to come back home.
One hour passed.
Two hours more.
It’s no longer your birthday when the front door opens and closes. Your weary eyes staring at Shouto who walks in, slippers on his feet, exhaustion on his face.
Your eyes lock with his, and you break the gaze to continue down his body. There’s no card in sight.
“Why are you coming home so late?” You ask placing your chin onto your hand. Your eyes boring into your boyfriend’s ambivalent aura.
“Long day at work.” Was his response and it irked you.
“Midoriya-san posted a video of you and your classmates at a bar. Why are you lying?”
“We only went in celebration of—“
“Bakugou’s early birthday celebration, yeah. I know.” You snark back, your hand dropping on the table and a frown on both your faces.
“I’m not in the mood to have a lecture right now. Especially since you know everything there is to know.” Shouto voice drips with sarcasm as he tries walking away.
“Only because if I don’t you won’t ever talk to me!” You exasperate standing up. The sounds of the chair scraping against the floor echoes through the apartment.
Shouto stares at you, his heterochromia eyes feeling empty, lifeless.
“You don’t talk to me anymore.” You repeat, your bottom lip quivering. You try not letting your feelings overwhelm you. Desperate not to give him a reason to walk away. “What am I supposed to do?”
“Keeping your business to yourself?” Shouto steely response. His upper lip presses into his bottom one. “Why do you need to know everything?”
You blink many times, your mouth dropping with failed sentences.
“You’re my boyfriend,” You’re slow to respond. “I’m curious and concerned because you’re my boyfriend.”
“If you’re going to be telling me things I already know, I don’t see the point of me listening to you.”
You laugh, unsure of what was wrong with him. In your inability to speak, Shouto begins walking away. His arm hitting your shoulder causing you to stumble.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” You seethe, your eyebrows scrunched as you push his back. He stills, not turning around. Your mind now in overdrive. “I’m trying to have a conversation with you! A conversation, Shouto! Something we haven’t done in fucking months! And you’re— you’re ruining it!!”
Shouto turns around, his face dark, his own eyebrows crunched as his lips are curling into a scowl. “Let’s make this clear, I’m not ruining anything here. I’m busy, y/n, I have a fucking job that requires utmost concentration and dedication. I can’t be waiting on your every demand and need. Don’t pretend that you didn’t know that coming in.”
“Of course I fucking knew that coming in! I’m the damn best fucking support employee Japan has! I’ve dealt with shit for you fucking heroes! I can see that you’re busy! But you’re not always busy! You just don’t spend any free time with me! And that’s what’s bugging me!”
That one complaint sends both of you over the edge. And insults pour out of both of your mouths. Eventually, you’re both just saying things to make the other upset.
You were too clingy. Demanding. Impatient. Unclean.
He was too bitchy. Completely unavailable. Dense. Opinionated.
He scrutinized what you had gotten him for Christmas. Claiming it was insensitive and embarrassing to open in front of his family.
You retorted that at the very least you had gotten him a present! You further added to the fact that he refused to meet your family.
He fought that you shouldn’t be too sensitive all the damn time because you’re a grown adult. Not some child.
It circles back to him not being attentive, the two of you in each other’s faces.
Red.
Angry.
Yelling.
“I don’t owe you anything. I don’t owe you my time, my energy, or my presence. If you’re not happy with it, why the hell are you here?” Shouto growls at you, his face dark.
“Because you mean everything to me, you fucking dick?! Something I’m not ready to give up! Is it that hard to fucking see that I want to be here?!”
“I don’t owe it to you to spend my free time with you,“ Shouto repeats. “You’re my girlfriend, not a pet!”
“Oh, no, sorry!!! I forgot because if I was a pet, I would be getting much more love and affection than this!! You know what, Shouto? This is my place. This is my apartment, and you still have the fucking audacity to show up with this attitude? For someone who loathes Endeavor as much as you do, you sure don’t act any fucking different from him.” You hiss centimeters from his face.
Your mind doesn’t even register the terrible words that come out of your mouth. All you know if that pure rage manifests upon Shouto’s own.
“Don’t you dare fucking compare me to him. You know nothing about what it was like living up with him.” Shouto seethes, as his body stiffens, his eyes dark and angry.
“Let me guess, always distant and cruel? Emotionally manipulative? Using the people in his life for his own advantage? Seeing only his own fucking feelings and no one else’s? Hm, and the real question is who am I describing?! Pro-Hero Endeavor or Shouto?!”
Shouto’s right-hand grips your forearm, shocking you at the sudden movement from him. But Shouto’s too angry to notice that his quirk activates in his moment of anger and frustration. Ice cold burning pain shoots down your arm. It not until you’re sobbing out in pain does he see the blistering ice burns on your forearm and the tears in your eyes. And fear fills his being.
You rip your forearm from his grasp. Baffled and choking sobs leaving your lips as you examine the blistering skin. You tremble as you cry.
He burned you.
Shouto burned you and he wasn’t even apologizing. All he was doing was staring.
Your eyes rip away from your burned arm and stare at Shouto. A new sadness burning through you. “I only wanted you to show me that I mattered today… it was my birthday today. No yesterday Shouto… it was my fucking birthday! But… I get it now, how much I annoy you, and how much you’re unhappy with me but… still. It was my birthday and you didn’t speak to me or acknowledge it at all yesterday.” Your voice resonates with broken, cracked, and defeated tones.
Your throat tightens with overwhelming sadness as pain throbs through your arm. But it’s nothing in comparison to the pain in your heart. You cry as you walk to the table grabbing the white envelope in your hands as you give it to him.
“Take this, it’s yours…! I’m… going to the hospital to get this fixed up… please don’t be here when I get back. …we—we are…” Your voice cracks again as you know what you have to say, but don’t want to say. It’s too late to fix these mistakes. “We’re done. Please have Midoriya come pick up your things. I don’t want to see you, ever again.”
You don’t even conceal the flowing tears as you clutch your burnt arm to your chest. You want him to say something, anything! Anything to convince you that this has only been a few bad months, but that this was the extent of it.
But still, even in defeat, he won’t budge to your will. “Leave the key under the mat, goodbye Todoroki.” You whisper completely defeated as you turn on your heel and leave the apartment.
Shouto goes to open the envelope you gave him, unsure of what it is. But he freezes at the sight of the address. ‘for shouto so that you can have fun with boring old me!’
Shouto unravels a letter within the envelope and reads it over.
‘dear shouto, I don’t know how to start a letter! is it like this? oh well!!!! I figured you were going to get me something I would love for my birthday. so I went ahead and got us this! two tickets to go, drumroll please, see the All Might museum that just opened!!! yes! you read it correctly!!! so I know you and all your friends somehow lost the lottery system for getting it among the Pro-Heroes. don’t panic, we support techs are smarter. we bid on them like feral animals. this ended up costing me ¥125,000!!! totally worth it in my stance. I know somethings been off with us lately, and I’m not all that sure what it is, but I do love you. like a lot. I’m just at this point unsure if I did anything in specific to make you mad? god, I hope not… anyways!!! I know we’ll get over it, we always do!! I love you Todoroki Shouto, and I’m so excited to get to go to this museum with you!!!! love - y/n’
A splitting headache overcame Shouto. His heart is frozen as he stared at the two tickets for special entrance to this museum. It was made out for today, the day after your birthday. A birthday that slipt his mind until your choked up voice reminded him of it.
Shouto sank to the ground, tears falling from his eyes. Oh.
He fucked up big time.
Tumblr media
bakugou katsuki
On god, you were going to murder your boyfriend.
How could someone so smart be this dumb?
This entire day he had been avoiding you like a ninja and simply ignoring your every action to get him to open up. It was pissing you off! He was acting like a damn cat instead of a human being.
“Katsuki, I swear, if you don’t eat this goddam soup and medicine, I WILL murder you!” You snap through the bathroom door.
The countless amounts of dry heaving coughs, sniffles, and sneezes heard from the door. You still continue to bang the on wall despite him ignoring you. “Soup is fucking disgusting, and medicine can suck my balls!” Bakugou’s voice weakly snaps back. The sickness heavy in his throat. You can hear him retching just a little bit.
How the mighty fall when they’re sick. But Bakugou fell hard. Plus he refused anything to make himself better! He was more typically relying on his own body to make him better. Which was dumb! But this was week three of him being this way, he needed something stronger than his own immune system.
“If you don’t open this door, I’ll find someone who can kick the door down. Like Deku!”
“Like hell, you would, shitty woman. Even like this, I can kick his ass across the country and—and—ACHOO!!” The crackling of his quirk goes off.
Yes, the worst part of Bakugou being sick was that he was no longer as in control of his quirk.
You grumble as you place the piping hot soup and medicine bottle onto the hallway counter. You walked to the kitchen grabbing your spare bathroom key. You opened it up to find Bakugo sweating profoundly. His body shivering, yet wrapped up in five blankets. His eyes were bloodshot and his nose was plugged up with a tissue.
He looked disgusting.
“Don’t you dare,” He croaks slightly, his tongue heavy in his mouth.
You grab the damn soup and medicine and put it on the bathroom counter. Bakugou was trying to escape. But he was weaker than he typically was only because he would get a migraine from standing up. “Oh no, you’re not going fucking anywhere, dumbass!” You snap at Bakugou as you put your full weight onto his hips, trying to keep him pinned down.
Bakugou won’t let you challenge him like this, and is very quick to fight back. So there the two of you were, wrestling in the bathroom. Your healthy body pressed against his clammy and sweaty one, but still, he’s able to keep up with you.
“Let go of me, shitty woman! I don’t fucking need that crap!”
“Your nose is just about dripping on me, idiot! You’re taking the damn medicine!”
Bakugou’s hand clutched your forearms, ready to throw you off him. But he freezes, and your eyes widen in the horror of having his hands on you. And as he sneezes before he can pull away, his sweaty hands exploding against your arms.
“OH MY GOD!” You scream, scorching pain exploding against your skin. You pulled away from Bakugou, your arms quivering as you watched red blisters form on your arms.
“Shit, babe, I’m sorry!” Bakugou sneezes again, his fingertips exploding.
“You burned me!” You shriek, unsure on how to feel about your boyfriend using his quirk on you.
“Well, I told you to leave me alone!” Bakugou throws back at you, and youthrust your burned arms his way.
“Yeah, still! Also, WHY do you have zero control over your quirk when you’re sick?! YOU’RE SO ANNOYING!” You cackle despite the pain as Bakugou blows his nose before crawling over to you grabbing your arms.
“Stay here, shitty woman,” Bakugou says after examining your burnt arms.
You watch as Bakugou stands up and goes to the medicine cabinet and pulls out some burn salve he owned. He often got burns from overexerting his quirk, and it seemed that you were going to be the one using it today.
“This is why you need to leave me alone when I’m sick,” Bakugou grumbles as his clammy fingers touch your arms. The soothing balm kicking in at the slightest touch.
“NO, what you need to do is to let me take care of you, dumbass!” You counter, shoving him with your foot. “You’re sick, and you could’ve been better five days ago had you just let me take care of you.”
His eyes look up at yours when he’s done applying the balm, and he presses a kiss to your cheek. “Fine.”
Within a day you get him to feel better, but now it’s your nose that’s running. Chills running down your spine as Bakugou shoved soup down your throat.
"You’re gonna eat this damn soup.” Bakugou snaps as you groan.
Why was this soup literally the worst?

Happy belated birthday to one of the best people in the world: @lance-alt! I promised I’d do something for you on Monday, but of course I have to make people wait for the juicy stuff. (read: the juicy stuff will be your tears after this, probably.) Love you bro!
General taglist: @whizzie72 @sapphire-knight @burningpersonflapsuitcase @softanxiouspatton @royallyanxious @kim-argent-moon @lance-alt (tell me if you want to be added or removed)
Taglist: @unsocialchapeau
Word Count: 2,626
Characters: mainly Remus, Logan, Deceit, Roman, (mentioned Virgil)
Pairing(s): onesided!Intrulogical, implied Loceit
Warning(s): Angst. So much angst. Also unresolved angst. Yelling, Swearing. Might be a bit ooc cause I can’t write Remus the way I’d like.
Summary: What do we not do for a loved one? What do we not do for the sake of a friendship? What do we not do to make sure we destroy ourselves in favor of others? And how exactly did Remus think he was going to be perfectly fine?
A/N: I am not sorry. This is a human AU btw. Enjoy! :3
❝Though I am bruised
Face of contusions
Know I’ll keep moving❞
Remus would have never blamed D.
It was middle school, and middle schoolers were widely known for their passion of brushing off specific people who didn’t appear quite as appropriate for themselves in their eyes.
He had always been a devastating tornado according to those around him, unable to be tamed unless given space to burst until not even a gentle breeze was left to tickle his skin.
D, on the other hand, knew how to be cool and poised, but that didn’t mean his nature was the one of an innocent puppy.
No, better yet, he was more like a domesticated beast.
That truly gave the teachers a hard time, because once combined they became inseparable and never really ceased to meddle with them.
And yet … students were most definitely inclined to avoid Remus at best, while when it came to D only curious and interested glances were given.
Remus would have never blamed him though, D didn’t even realize how far better they were treating him compared to his friend. He only focused on how close-minded people still were in there.
Who was he not to join in his complaining?
Everything would have been fine with him for as long as their friendship stayed that way. A messy supportive two-participants family.
It felt like a welcoming and roaring fire at the same time, the chaos they brought just with their understanding looks and smirks.
They knew they were going to end up with a long lasting friendship and they were proud to remind those around them by never losing sight of each other at school.
And it was okay that way, with only just D accepting him the way he was, he didn’t really need much else.
Until that cursed afternoon.
There was an extracurricular sort of contest their school held right after lessons every year, but Remus could barely remember what it even was about
All he remembered was that damned marvellous thoughtful and focused expression when he looked a bit to his left to the boy sitting next to him.
Oh, the irony.
It had been right then that it had hit him. That maybe … maybe there was already something else. A something that transformed into something more with every little bit of interaction they shared.
Roman knew him, they were in the same class, and he had to complain at least once a day about how unnerving the guy was, always challenging him do debates Roman was so inclined to win that it took a third party member, Virgil, to separate them.
How the three of them were still close friends after three years was still a mystery to many.
So that was when he first heard about Logan.
But his brother and him weren’t exactly known for having the safest household in the world, so inviting friends over was a hard no. Then, the actual first time Remus had seen him was when he entered middle school that year.
At first he hadn’t obviously realized his crush, but after he had spent the minimal amount of time with Logan, it was so blatant that even he couldn’t deny it to himself.
He could have also labelled it as the first time someone other than his brother and D had recognized him as another human other than a weird poltergeist to avoid. There was a way he spoke with that low tone and thoughtful arguments that would have probably made him melt right on the spot. Or maybe it was his sharp features, or the way he thought he had looked at him that one time.
Remus was deep down the river at the base of the cliff, the tip of his hair barely managing to be untouched by the water.
Damn Roman. Damn Roman and his storytelling, and how Remus had always rooted for Logan in their discussions, how he had already taken a liking into him and had already doomed himself.
It was break, fifteen minutes of pure relaxation, and Remus and D had already spent the first five minutes together, trying to get away from the stress of the ending of the first term.
D’s eyes lit up as they turned a corner, Remus followed his gaze as he spoke.
« Hey! Why is this the first time I see you since school started? » a toothy smile displayed on his lips. It was almost as bright as the one he reserved to him.
« Your cousin is impossible to move from his seat. » Logan’s crystalline voice cleared. « So Roman and I mostly stay in class with him. »
« Ugh, » D rolled his eyes. « I apologize on his behalf. » he didn’t hide the fond tone when he talked, though.
« No, it’s quite alright by us. » had he ever not turned to Remus, maybe he wouldn’t have regretted meeting Logan in the long run. « Oh, I didn’t even introduce myself properly the other day. » he stretched out his hand. « I am Logan. »
« I know. »
Panic.
Fuck. Fuck what did you just say, why. Now he’ll think you’re creepy, too.
D put an arm around his shoulders. « Yeah, he’s Roman’s brother. » perhaps a saviour? « And sometimes he’s just as dense as him. »
Remus scoffed. « Lies. I’m a better idiot than him. »
That got a chuckle out of both. He felt delighted.
As he saw Logan about to withdraw his hand, Remus took it almost instantly.
Oh my god what the fuck are you doing?
« I’m Remus. » the bell rang and maybe his ears were too.
« My pleasure. » Logan conceded before letting go and starting to backtrack to his class. « I’ll see you two around. »
And as fast as he arrived, he was gone.
Like a blurry hallucination or those spots you see when you get up too fast from the couch.
The rest of the day-
Well, he didn’t remember much anymore.
Maybe the fact that he and Logan did actually have something in common.
When there was a group of three, there would always be the two that shared the stronger chemistry. And if Logan didn’t feel as close to Roman and Virgil, Remus sure as heck knew if anyone interacted with D and him, he would have felt like something was off most of the times.
There were flashes of memories that crossed his mind ever since Logan had left middle school to start his first year of high-school.
Most were all the meet ups they had with D during break, the glances he caught and buried deep down in his heart, the laughter of all three of them, how their dynamics colliding were actually definitely working well together.
What he remembered mostly were the furtive tears that were shed on their last day.
He never told D about that.
It was when he went home that he couldn’t have hidden it from Roman any longer. His brother had affirmed that he had been crying even more than himself, which was saying a lot.
So the words came out like a destructive flood, deleting with a burning strength all the hopeful thoughts.
« Rem, listen here. » Roman, thankfully, had spoken up before his mind would have travelled down risky paths. « Not seeing each other almost everyday doesn’t mean you won’t be friends any longer. »
He had only looked up from the pavement. Were he to look back at this memory years after he’d have thought himself to be pathetic.
« And you can definitely meet after school whenever you want. If our parents won’t let you, I’ll come with. »
And that they did, slowly trying to gain their parents’ trust to let them go out by themselves until they were both attending high-school.
Another three years would have passed before the lethal “last day” would come again, but the trio made sure to imprint the best memories together while they had the time.
Only that the most unexpected things happen at the worst times.
Remus and D were both in the third year; things seemed to be going smoothly as ever, between all the tests and mental breakdowns for said tests, Remus would have never thought to cross the threshold of his school and be met with loud yelling not too further away from his class.
Normally he wouldn’t have really cared much.
Unless the two subjects were Logan and D. Which they were. Which had also made him pale with a horrible feeling in his guts.
He couldn’t make out what they were saying as the screaming in his thoughts didn’t leave him alone.
« MIT, Logan. Seriously! You’re insane! »
« I had my reasons! »
D scoffed and put his face in his hands for a beat. « Refusing because of your friendships is not a valid reason! »
Remus was confused. He really didn’t want to be there at all.
« It is when you don’t want to lose them. »
« You wouldn’t have, you idiot! »
« Guys what’s- »
« There is a reason if we’re friends! »
« -going …? » he could see the profound rage in D’s caramel irises. One glance and you’re dead.
« You didn’t trust us to maintain our friendship, did you? Is that why you refused the international internship? »
« That’s absurd, that’s not what I mean! »
« It sounds a lot like it’s exactly what you mean! »
Remus connected the dots.
Friendship. MIT. International internship. Logan had refused to be an intern abroad only because of them. He had been too afraid to loose them as friends if he were to be away too long.
And, of course, D was mad about his lost opportunity. He would have never admit it at that moment, but he felt guilty, too.
« You sure talk a lot and pretend you’re smart but, really, you’re just as stupid sometimes. »
The look in Logan’s eyes changed.
Oh no. Oh no no no no.
« Fine then. I’ll keep on being stupid on my own. » he walked away in a instant, steps long and furious, opposing the low tone of his voice, but matching the seething fire in his chest.
« D- »
« Please, don’t. » D looked at him with broken eyes. « I’m fine. We’re fine. I’ll see you during break, okay? »
Remus only nodded and headed to his own class. He pretended he didn’t feel awful as he walked by the door to Logan’s own class.
It was as D said. Fine.
Everything was going to be okay.
Except it wasn’t, because that was the last time both of them talked with Logan.
The two wouldn’t even look at each other and Remus couldn’t help but side with D. That meant he wouldn’t have interacted with the older boy either.
And so time passed … months. Avoiding each other when all you ever wanted was to share at least a single word.
It wasn’t okay. It wasn’t fine at all, it hurt so much and Remus didn’t know how longer he would have been able to handle it.
Yet, he was too afraid to do anything. He wouldn’t have wanted to loose D’s friendship too because of a reckless action. And he did lots of them. So, for once, he stayed put and let the Fates do their work.
Which ended into the fight remaining unresolved, Logan graduating from high-school and both of them never meeting him again.
Roman had tried to bring up the argument multiple times, but Remus had decided to bury everything deep down and avoid ever bringing it up.
Like a ghost, Logan appeared to exist only in his mind. A mind that he didn’t seem to want to leave. Even despite all that had been going down his ridiculously tough teenage life.
Remus and D had no idea how they made it through the final exams.
They also had no clue how they almost completely lost contact after the beginning of university.
Maybe it wasn’t loneliness he felt after that. Maybe it was more disappointment.
It wasn’t like it was anyone’s fault, though. Their lessons never matched, so during the week it was almost impossible to meet, sometimes they had jobs in the weekend to pay for apartments nearby their universities.
Texts became a burden they both forgot to remember to answer, it was as if anything was a priority to socializing and it was driving them insane.
Even sad.
Then one day, out of the blue, D had texted him in a way he hadn’t done in too long. He sounded greatly excited and he had told Remus he needed to meet him as soon as possible.
He had a surprise!
Remus was radiant that day, finally getting the chance he deserved to recover their friendship.
It was a Friday afternoon, he was walking down the street towards the place they had agreed on to meet.
D was right in front of him. But enough meters away so that he couldn’t recognize yet the person walking alongside him. Remus narrowed his eyes, almost squeezing them shut at some point. Did the sun have to be so bright right above them that day?
He put a hand on his forehead to shield his vision.
He wished he didn’t.
Not because the guy next to D was Logan.
Not because his heart made three somersaults before twisting one last time as though he fell in love all over again at once, hitting his chest like a violent wind in a snowstorm.
Not because he was smiling so wide his face would have fallen off any second.
But because, as his eyes focused and examined their figures, he noticed the details.
Like their joined hands, fingers intertwined the way he would have wanted to but had never been brave enough to do.
How they looked lovingly at each other before turning back to him.
His own smile faltering for a second and then going back as it was before. Normal, sure, but fake. Fake, but not blatant enough to be discovered.
He couldn’t do this to them.
And sure he was going to be happy for them right? They had been friends. He was going to survive by internalizing everything in himself, right? He was going to forget about all his feelings in favour of his closest friends. That was the right thing to do.
It happened to everyone.
It did.
He could survive.
Hurting in the process, but he could.
The day went by in an instant, a terrible, calamitous and painstakingly long instant in which he hoped he had been hallucinating all along.
Remus had wiped everything he had seen while on his way home. He forcefully removed any kind of thought in his head so he could bask in the numbness until the silent chaos of the world around him stopped making sense.
He threw the door to his home open.
Except that it wasn’t his home and that he had somehow gotten to Roman’s own apartment, red eyes adorning his face in a brutally doleful expression.
His brother was immediately at his side, arms wrapped around his chest, with an understanding look in his eyes and anticipation for the tears to come.
He had known about Logan and D getting together before Remus, so he had seen something like that coming.
Yet Roman didn’t know it would’ve hit him hard too, seeing his brother so broken.
So he let Remus cry his soul out, while nothing else could have been done.
Dreaming, perhaps.
That was all he had left.
